Dogs are Everywhere

I am amazed at how many places dogs show up in our lives…not just the real woofers, but “canine-related” consumer products. Just look around any store and you’ll find mugs with “doggie mugs” on them, bath towels with stitched paw prints, or ink pens, note cards, and mouse pads adorned with dog photographs.

Even fashion has gone to the dogs! How many of you wear a sweatshirt with your favorite breed of dog on the front? I own several dog scarves (and cat scarves, too) as well as dog earrings and necklaces, so I’m not new to the “pets are fashionable” concept. This week MyPetED’s Facebook friends enjoyed sharing their unique methods of exercising indoor cats. As all cat lovers know, any self-respecting cat would opt for a nap on a sunny windowsill over a jog around the house if left to his own devices. So, we health-conscious cat owners try all sorts of interesting methods to stimulate feline activity. Why? Because we know that “Fat Cats” sound cool, but really aren’t.

Don’t let dog chocolate poisoning ruin your special day!

Do you love your dog? Does he own your heart?  Is she your favorite Valentine? If so, you’ll join millions of pet owners who will include canine companions in their Valentine’s Day celebrations. I know my Labrador, Scout, considers Valentine’s Day a special event… and for chocolate lovers like me, February 14th is a REALLY special day.
